How to permanently delete your Waymarker account and all associated data

⚠️ Important Warning

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once you delete your account, all of your data will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: Delete from the App (Recommended)

If you have the Waymarker app installed:

  1. Open the Waymarker app
  2. Go to Settings (tap your profile icon)
  3. Navigate to Data Management
  4. Tap "Delete Account"
  5. Follow the confirmation prompts

Option 2: Contact Us Directly

If you don't have access to the app or prefer to contact us directly:

  1. Send an email to contact@waymarkerapp.com
  2. Include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line
  3. Provide your account email address
  4. We'll process your request within 7 business days

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:

  • Account Information: Email address, display name, and profile picture
  • Journey Data: All your journeys, waypoints, and milestones
  • Content: All text entries, photos, and personal notes
  • Preferences: App settings and personalization choices
  • Usage Data: Any analytics or usage information associated with your account

Data Retention After Deletion

After account deletion:

  • Your data is immediately removed from active systems
  • Data may remain in secure backups for up to 30 days
  • After 30 days, all data is permanently purged from our systems
  • We cannot recover any data after the 30-day backup period

Local vs. Cloud Data

If you use Waymarker without an account: All your data is stored locally on your device. Simply uninstalling the app will remove all your data.

If you have a Waymarker account: Your data is synced to our secure cloud servers. You must delete your account (using the methods above) to remove cloud data.
